By-election is to be held after sad death of Councillor Graham Lambie
A new councillor is to be elected for the Forth and Endrick ward in May.
A by-election has been called for the ward following the death of SNP councillor Graham Lambie last month, aged just 62.
Councillor Lambie, who died suddenly at his home, had served the ward since 2007.
The by-election has now been set for Thursday, May 6 – the same day as the Holyrood elections.
Nomination papers can be downloaded from Stirling Council’s website: https://www. stirling.gov.uk/elections or can be obtained from the Election Office, strictly by appointment only, or email elections@stirling.gov.uk. Due to coronavirus precautions, a prior appointment is essential and a drop in service is not available.
Completed nomination papers must be delivered to the Election Office by 4pm on Wednesday, March 31, by appointment only.
In the event of a contest in the
Ward a poll will take place between 7am and 10pm on May 6.
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer, at Hillside House, Laurelhill Business Park, Stirling, FK7 9JQ by midnight on Monday, April 19. Applications can be made online: https://www. gov.uk/register-to-vote
Any elector may apply for a postal or proxy vote at this election. New applications to vote by post and requests to cancel or change an existing postal or proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer, Hillside House, Laurelhill Business Park, Stirling FK7 9JQ by 5pm on Tuesday, April 20.
Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday. April 27.
Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on the grounds of physical incapacity must reach the
Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday, May 6. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday, April 27.
