More seats added for Battle of the Brits

-

Huge demand for tickets has seen extra seats added to Aberdeen’s P&J Arena for the Battle of the Brits tennis event in December.

Doubles supremo Jamie Murray - who is the tournament director - and his brother Andy are set to lead the Scotland team against an England line-up featuring British No.1 Dan Evans at the event on December 21-22.

As expected, fans are jumping at the chance to see the Murrays play live in Scotland and be part of a unique two-day sports and entertainment event in the lead-up to Christmas.

The evening session on December 22 is completely sold out so Jamie and his team are adding extra seating capacity to meet the demand.

A small number of tickets are still available for the Tuesday evening and Wednesday afternoon sessions.

“We want as many people to be part of this as possible,”he said.“Battle of the Brits – Scotland versus England is going to be really special for me and for Andy and hopefully for fans as well and we don’t want anyone to miss out.

“I’m thrilled with how ticket sales are going. It’s been a tough year for so many people and I think everyone is excited be able to look forward to something fun like this.”

The event itself will feature six matches, four singles and two doubles, played over a two-day period and follows the successful launch of Battle of the Brits last July at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton, which was followed by a high-profile mixed team event the following month and a third men’s and women’s singles tournament in December at the same venue.
