Community group funding

-

Community groups who provide services and activities within Cambusbarron have been invited to apply for funding before the end of April in the first of four opportunities throughout 2021 to apply for grants from the Cambusbarron Community Fund.

Applications are welcome for a variety of projects, including initiatives to improve the environment, provide vocational training, or improve community facilities. Projects which help young people or the elderly are also eligible.

Priority will be given to projects which will make a real and lasting difference to the community as outlined in the

Cambusbarron Community Action Plan.

Funding in recent years has been invested in children’s play park equipment, supported the development trust with its ongoing work to provide opportunities for residents and enabled the CambusbarronVillage Nursery to establish a storage facility in the woodland.

Funding comes from community benefit payments from the Earlsburn and Kingsburn Wind Farms owned by Falck Renewables in nearby Carron Valley. Foundation Scotland, Scotland’s community foundation, administers the fund, assessing recommendations and supporting local decision-making.

Cambusbarron Community Council will determine final decisions on awards and chair Marion MacAllister said: “We look forward to receiving applications which reflect the needs of the whole community and to supporting projects which make the community a better place in which to live for all.

“Please note this is for the whole community council area, the boundaries of which cover a wide geographical area.”

Applications must be submitted before April 30. For full details and an application form, visit www.foundationscotland. org.uk/cambusbarron.
