Woman attacked herexat unitfor homeless
A resident of Stirling’s Springkerse homeless accommodation burst her former partner’s lip during an attack in the unit.
Natalie McPake pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting Lennie Paul Siddall on March 6 this year by punching him on the head to his injury.
The charge was aggravated by abusive of a partner or expartner.
Stirling Sheriff Court was told on Wednesday McPake and Siddall had been involved in an on-off relationship for a number of years and both had been living in Springkerse on March 6 this year.
Fiscal depute India MacLean said Mr Siddall left a friend’s flat in the unit at 8pm and McPake, standing outside her own flat and under the influence of alcohol, punched him to the side of the face causing his lip to burst.
Police were contacted. When officers attended McPake replied ‘load of s ***** ’ when cautioned and charged.
McPake’s agent Frazer McCready told Sheriff Wyllie Robertson he had met Siddall the previous day who had “made it clear” that he didn’t want McPake prosecuted or punished.
McPake’s guilty plea was made at the earliest opportunity, added the lawyer.
A report prepared for the court, Mr McCready said, made “sad reading” as McPake had a difficult upbringing and had been involved in abusive relationships.
She had lashed out at Mr Siddall after learning he had been involved in another relationship.
The lawyer said McPake also had a problem with alcohol.
Sheriff Robertson deferred sentence on McPake until October 13 for good behaviour and to engage with a current community payback order.
He also requested a supplementary criminal justice social work report and stated that he did not consider a non-harrassment order necessary.
