Fergus and Alison Younger took on the family farm eight years ago and since then have diversified into a range of meat, eggs and salads that can be either be bought direct from the farm, or ordered through their local home delivery service.

The judges were impressed with their community focus on local food and great customer relationships, alongside their recent investment in an online shop to

help promote their range and manage orders.

Alison said:““We were delighted, if a bit surprised, to be selected as finalists for this UK wide award - it’s a very competitive process. We are a small family farm and passionate about local produce and great quality.

“The farm now delivers to over 220 households every week and have many customers who come and collect from the farm itself – it’s great to have had such a good response locally to our focus on free range, grass fed, naturally grown produce.”

Alison and Fergus will now travel to London for the awards ceremony on October 7 where the overall winner will be announced.

Old Leckie Farm produce Leckie Layers free range eggs, Leckie Leaves salad, and meat sales from their own Highland cattle, outdoor reared pork and lamb.
