SCHOOL NEWS

Covid: Although many restrictions have been lifted nationally, Covid is still with us. Pupils are encouraged to take two lateral flow tests per week. Test kits can be collected from the school office. All pupils should be wearing a mask in school and on school transport unless they are exempt.

Kettles Koffee: Coming soon. Brand new to the S6 Leadership option this year is the Barista Academy which combines barista skills, leadership, enterprise and lots more.‘Kettles Koffee’was the name the S6s wanted to name the enterprise project after the Business Unit that they studied in S1 as it was already a well known brand throughout the school. They are working alongside Tapside Coffee who have given up their time to train our 15 young leaders to develop their barista skills and run a successful social enterprise. Mr Truesdale is currently putting the finishing touches to their Barista Cart and they will be soon selling coffee and hot chocolate to our school community. Give them a follow on Twitter to track their journey @KettlesKoffee

On The Roof:‘On the Roof ’ project has finally got underway. In October, the school were awarded a grant from the Youth Link Scotland Covid Recovery Fund to work in partnership with TCV (The Conservation

Volunteers) to transform the current roof-top garden and offer some pupils the opportunity to engage in outdoor learning. We will also be working in partnership with Stirling Council’s Ready for Work Programme as part of their curriculum as well as pupils from the Autism Provision. We are looking forward to seeing the transformation and hopefully it will be a nice tranquil space for the whole community to use.
