CAMBUSBARRON ROVERS ........................ 3 DOUNE CASTLE ............................................ 4

This latest instalment in the long-standing derby was a cracker for the large crowd with three goals in added time taking the game right to the wire.

Playing down the Mill Road slope, Doune started well and forced a few saves from Rovers keeper Gray.

Cambusbarron came closest from a corner when a Marc Rodger header beat the Doune keeper but cannoned off the right-hand post

Doune took the lead when a corner was cleared Andrew Gibson drilled a low drive into the net for 1-0 but Rovers replied instantly and equalised when Declan Valentine powered a header into the top corner for 1-1.

The visitors regained the lead when Chris Macdonald scored. With the Rovers defence claiming offside the Doune front man placed the ball wide of the keeper for a 2-1 lead.

Just before the break Aaron Goodwin came close to grabbing an equaliser when his header crashed off the face of the bar and rebounded to safety. Rovers pressed after the restart and forced Doune on the defensive but decent chances were missed

The equaliser finally came in 82 minutes when Dean Manson netted.

On 88 minutes, Rovers keeper Gray clattered Alan Inglis with a clumsy challenge and was red-carded and from the free kick, Gavin Anderson diverted the ball past repalcement Alan More to give Doune a 3-2 lead.

Cambusbarron equalised again on 94 minutes with a quick turn and shot from the edge of the area by Calum McLaren.

On 98 minutes, Doune finally secured victory with a goal by Callum Macdougall to take all three points.

It’s another local derby on Saturday for the Rovers when Milton are the visitors to Mill Road Park on league duty with a 2pm kick off.
