Award-winning produce at farmers’ market

-

Stirling Farmers’ Market will be returning to Port Street this Saturday, October 9, from 10am-4pm for the first of two markets this month.

Eighteen traders are looking to showcase their produce to Stirling’s marketgoers.

With the weather having taken an autumnal turn, many people will be starting to change their cooking habits to rustle up some hearty, warming meals and the Farmers’ Market has plenty to offer this week to help create the perfect stew or casserole.

There’s Highland beef, lean venison and seasonal vegetables on offer along with Ayrshire potatoes.

Also looking to tempt marketgoers this week will be French pastry chef Nicole of Nini’s Pastries who has been working on some new products fusing continental and Scottish recipes into some baking.

Other stalls at this week’s market will be offering wild venison and game, championship-winning pies, honey meads and alcohol-free spirits, Lebanese deli products; sourdough breads; sausage rolls; chutneys and preserves; fudge and tablet; cakes and French pastries; Highland beef; Ayrshire vegetables; award-winning cheeses, butter and free range eggs, Arbroath fish and shellfish, herbal teas and locally roasted coffee and a selection of locally produced craft and gift ideas.

Some physical distancing measures will still be in place on Port Street and the organisers ask that you give other shoppers space and use the hygiene stations provided. If you have any symptoms, have tested positive or been told to isolate then please stay at home to keep others safe.

Stirling Farmers’ Market is held on Port Street, Stirling on the second and fourth Saturdays of every month between 10am and 4pm.
