Bid to use farmer’s field

Dog training sessions could soon be taking place on the outskirts of Stirling.

Stirling Dog Behavioural Centre, based at Bandeath, has applied to Stirling Council planners for a change of use of a farmer’s field 190 metres southwest of Wallace View Caravan Park at Millhall.

The business wants to carry out dog exercise and training classes on the 6.4 acres of land as well as creating a hardcore car park.

The field is on the south side of A905, 270 metres east of the A91/A905 roundabout and accessed off a private road which then accesses off the A905 just opposite the caravan park.

Agents for the applicants said: “Access will be taken from new gate south of the existing gate allowing vehicles to pull fully off the A905 then accessing the site. Vehicles will exit and enter the private road with the flow of traffic. They will not cross the A905.

“The field will have stock fence around the perimeter (as per current fence height) with two metre high deer fence just inside the perimeter.

“The car park is planned for the north east corner of the site and will cover 30 metres by 10 metres. There will be a secure gate entrance from the car park into the training field.

“All dogs will be on lead until inside the training area. The field will be used for dog exercise training classes and one-to-one lessons.

“The maximum vehicle movement is six to 10 per hour during class times. These are planned for mainly evenings and weekends - two nights a week, no later than 8pm.

“Daytime use of the field is for Stirling Dog Behaviour Centre trainers with maximum one to two vehicle movments per hour.” Council planners are expected to make a recommendation on the application in due course.
