BARCA MILTON 97 ................................ 0 DOUNE CASTLE .................................. 11

Doune Castle eased past their Edinburgh opponents to reach the Scottish Amateur Cup third round with an emphatic second half display.

Barca Milton 97 offered stubborn resistance at the start of the game with the Castle having to wait until the 35th minute before breaking the deadlock.

But two goals before the break was followed by a nine-goal avalanche in the second period to overwhelm the home side.

After coming close on several occasions, Doune finally made the breakthrough when Alan Inglis threaded the ball through the middle to Callum Smith and he strode forward before placing the ball high beyond the keeper from 18 yards.

Doune added a second on 44 minutes. David Innes created the opening with a fine pass forward to Robbie Hurst who slammed the ball wide of the keeper for 2-0.

Barca finally forced Callum Davison into action on 47 minutes with the Doune keeper gathering a long-range effort.

Castle however upped the ante and made it 3-0 after 55 minutes when Niall

McClure took full advantage of a long throw from Andy Innes to ram home and two minutes later Hurst cut the ball back to Inglis for the easiest of finishes.

McClure made it 5-0 after 63 minutes after being set up by Inglis and Andrew madeit 6-0 on 75 minutes when he was on hand to turn the ball into the empty net after the keeper had parried an effort from Andy Innes.

Ross Macfarlane made an immediate impact from the bench with a quick-fire double in the 76th and 78th minutes.

A demoralised, and now ragged, home-side were dealt a further blow with a red card after 80 minutes and Doune then made it 9-0 when Callum

Macdougall found himself unmarked at the back post and perfectly placed to tap home a loose ball the home defence failed to clear.

David Gillespie charged down the right flank and crossed for Inglis to finish from close range for 10-0 and he had time for his hat-trick when he side-stepped a defender and slotted home from eight yards to make the final score 11-0.
