Holiday park makes pitch for 31 static spots

-

A Gartmore holidaymakers’site is hoping to gain permission for more that 30 static pitches.

Ward Leisure (Trossachs) Ltd has submitted an application to Stirling Council planners for 31 pitches at Trossachs Holiday Park. However, the static pitches are expected to take the place of almost 40 touring pitches currently at the location.

In documents submitted with the application, agents for the applicant said:

“Our client purchased Trossachs Holiday Park in August 2019 with a view to gradually upgrading it, and making it fit for purpose for today’s holiday and tourism market.

“The holiday park is located approximately 1.2 kilometres to the east of Gartmore and is accessed off the A81 public road to the west.

“The park brings significant amounts of tourists and holiday makers into the local and wider area. This in turn maintains employment at the holiday park as well as helping to maintain employment for other local businesses in the area.

“The application site relates to an area of land immediately to the east of the reception building measuring approximately 0.7 hectares which currently is utilised to provide 38 pitches for touring caravans. Ward Leisure (Trossachs) Ltd seeks planning permission to adapt this part of the site to form 31 static pitches for holiday use.

“The existing tiered levels would remain in situ and no level changes are proposed. Furthermore, wherever possible the existing bases would be utilised and/or altered to accommodate the proposed static pitches.”

Council planners are expected to make a recommendation on the application in due course.
