Clean sweep at business park

Keep Scotland Beautiful staff get busy

-

Staff of environmental charity Keep Scotland Beautiful took part in a litter pick at a Stirling business park this week.

They carried out the clean up to mark moving into their new office base at Castle Business Park.

It was also part of the charity’s annual spring clean campaign which runs until Thursday April 21.

After working at home during the pandemic the team moved into the business park offices as hybrid working commenced on April 1.

They collected 15 bags of litter from the cycle path and surrounding area behind the business park.

More unusual finds included seven tyres, a wheelbarrow, a microwave, a child’s scooter, a plastic Christmas tree, Chrismas lights and decorations – including an inflatable Santa – paint, cement, two bike frames, two schoolbags, a paddling pool and a £10 note.

Keep Scotland Beautiful campaigns coordinator Heather Mclaughlin said: “Litter is a growing problem across Scotland and it’s everyone’s responsibility to help keep the areas where they live and work clean and safe.

“The same goes for the KSB team. We want to look after the surroundings of our new office, which is a fantastic place to work, and the wider area of Stirling.

“We have been based in the county for the last 30 years and feel fortunate to be part of such a beautiful and thriving area at the centre of Scotland.

“Following the challenges of the last two years, when we moved office we chose to adopt a new hybrid way of working, and our office reflects more modern, sustainable and flexible ways of working, allowing us to be responsive to changing needs and protect the environment by reducing car travel. It was great to see the team out litter picking today, reflecting our values as a charity.”
