ALVA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Alva Community Council is meeting online using Zoom until further notice. ALLAN CHURCH

Service on Sunday at 11.15am will be led by Rev Peter Gill. All welcome to attend. Please take a lateral flow test before coming to church. Face masks are optional under Scottish Government guidelines but should be worn if you wish. Hand sanitisers and face masks are available (in case you forget your own and still wish to use one). Collection­s for the foodbank can be left in the church. Allan Church Tuesday Coffee Club The club will run on the first and third Tuesday of each month due to reduced numbers of helpers. Next meeting is May 3. It will still be from 10-11.30am. If you would like to help out please come along and speak to a member of the team. Organisers are looking forward to seeing everyone again. If the banner is out, then the club is open, but please do a lateral flow test before attending.

MURRAYFIEL­D UF CHURCH

Sunday service will be led by Rev Gary Barclay in the church hall at 10.30am, and will also be available on Youtube at Murrayfiel­d UF Online from 10.30am onwards. Sunday is the church’s Gift Day when members have the opportunit­y to give to the ongoing work of the church. The Indoor Walking Group meets on Zoom at 4pm on Mondays and Fridays - details from Jean Hastings. Congregati­onal Board and Kirk Session have a joint meeting in the church hall on Monday, April 25 at 2pm.

LADYWELL CHURCH

Tomorrow (Thursday), the coffee morning is from 10.30am till noon. Please join for a drink and a chat. The service on Sunday is at the usual time of 11.15am. Masks are now optional. Tea and coffee will be available in the small hall after the service. The ladies group will meet on Monday, April 25 at 1.30pm. All welcome.

ST SAVIOUR’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

There will be no service today (Wednesday) but it will resume next week. On Sunday, April 24 the 10am service will be led by the church’s Lay Readers. It is the second Sunday of Easter and the theme is the Apostle Thomas. Sue White will lead the service and Nick Price will be preacher. There will be refreshmen­ts in the church hall after the service. The club played its first friendly fixture against Polmaise on Saturday at home, running out winners by 63-52. The next meeting will take place today (Wednesday) at 1pm in the community centre. The speaker will be Gail Campbell who will give a presentati­on on the challenges and experience­s of being a locum nurse in the Western Isles. Competitio­ns – a health and wellbeing tip and a homemade healthy snack. On Tuesday, April 26 there is an outing to Klondyke Garden Centre, Falkirk. Minibus will leave Cambusbarr­on Community Centre at 1pm and return from Klondyke at 3pm. All members and visitors welcome.

THE BRUCE MEMORIAL CHURCH
