ALVA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Alva Community Council is meeting online using Zoom until further notice. Members of the Alva community are welcome at all meetings and can request to join a meeting by emailing info@alvacommunitycouncil.org. uk. BANNOCKBURN COUNCILLORS’ SURGERIES

LADYWELL CHURCH

Tomorrow (Thursday), the coffee morning is from 10am till noon. All welcome to come along and enjoy coffee and cake. Sunday’s service is at the usual time of 11.15am. Masks are now optional. ALLAN CHURCH TUESDAY COFFEE CLUB

The club will run on the first and third Tuesday of each month due to reduced numbers of helpers. Next meeting is May 3. It will still be from 10-11.30am. If you would like to help out please come along and speak to a member of the team. Organisers are looking forward to seeing everyone again. If the banner is out, then the club is open, but please do a lateral flow test before attending.

MURRAYFIELD UF CHURCH

TEA’S COMPANY

Held every Monday between 2pm and 4pm in the Honeyman Hall at Bridge of Allan Parish Church, Tea’s Company is a community group for those who want a chat, make new friends, feeling lonely or isolated. ST SAVIOUR’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Wednesday morning quiet Eucharist resumes today at 11am in the choir vestry. There will be coffee after the service. On Sunday, the celebrant at the 10am Eucharist will be Rev Joan Lyon and churchgoers are grateful that she is able to do this. It is the third Sunday of Easter. There will be refreshments in the church hall after the service. BRIDGE OF ALLAN BOWLING CLUB

On Saturday the club played a friendly match against Riverside as part of Riverside’s centenary celebrations. Bridge of Allan ran out winners by 72 shots to 47. Bridge of Allan skips first: S Ingram 11-15 A Taylor; W Guy 29-6 G Chandler; I Wright 20-12 D Cairns; K Wilkie 12-14 J Whyte. Saturday, April 30 sees the club play host to Spittalmyre whilst the Bridge of Allan ladies play at Dunblane as part of that club’s 200th anniversary celebrations today (Wednesday). Friday’s Joker prize was won by Linda Mckenzie.

SAVE GILLIES HILL OPEN MEETING

A meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 11 from 7-8.30pm in Cambusbarron Community Centre. Pre-registration required. Save Gillies Hill is delighted to be able to host open meetings once again. THE BRUCE MEMORIAL CHURCH

The Fruitfulness on the Frontline Discussion Group will begin tomorrow (Thursday) in the church hall from 7-8.30pm. This will run for eight weeks, thinking about how we can serve Jesus wherever we are. Everyone is welcome to join for worship on Sunday at 11am. It will be the start of a short series in the book of Titus on the theme ‘Truth leading to Godliness.’ Sunday school will be on after the first part of the service - all children are invited to come along. The annual Christian Aid walk will be on Saturday, May 14 at 2pm. This will be a short Two Bridges Walk around Cambusbarron, followed by light refreshments in the church hall. All welcome.
