ALVA COMMUNITY COUNCIL

Alva Community Council is meeting online using Zoom until further notice. Members of the Alva community are welcome at all meetings and can request to join a meeting by emailing info@alvacommun­itycouncil.org. uk. Please make your request to join the meeting two clear days prior to the meeting date. If you would like an item, put on an agenda, please email info@ alvacommun­itycouncil.org.uk. Elected Clackmanna­nshire councillor­s, police representa­tives and subgroups will be sent a link by email, to Alva CC meetings automatica­lly. BANNOCKBUR­N ALLAN CHURCH

Service on Sunday at 11.15am. All welcome to attend. Collection­s for the foodbank can be left in the church. Your support is vital especially in these times and much appreciate­d. Board and session meet (tonight) Wednesday at 7pm. All members are encouraged to attend.

Allan Church will be lit up purple on tomorrow (Thursday) for Fibromyalg­ia Awareness and blue on Tuesday, May 17 for Neurofibro­matosis Awareness.

ALLAN CHURCH TUESDAY COFFEE CLUB

The club will run on the first and third Tuesday of each month due to reduced numbers of helpers. It will still be from 10-11.30am. If you would like to help out please come along and speak to a member of the team. Organisers are looking forward to seeing everyone again. If the banner is out, then the club is open, but please do a lateral flow test before attending. Next meeting is on May 17.

BANNOCKBUR­N BUTTERCUP CAFÉ

The cafe in Allan Church Community Hall requires more volunteers to enable it to restart successful­ly. Organisers cannot run safely without volunteers and helpers so please come along and help. There will be a meeting on Monday, May 30 at 1.30pm or call Lesley on 07968 329764 if you would like to discuss. The aim is to be open every Monday once there are enough helpers.

MURRAYFIEL­D UF CHURCH

Sunday’s service will be led by Rev Gary Barclay in the church hall at 10.30am and will also be available on Youtube at Murrayfiel­d UF Online from 10.30am onwards. The Indoor Walking Group meets on Zoom at 4pm on Mondays and Fridays - details from Jean Hastings. The Outdoor Walking Group (known as Tea in the Park) is restarting on Friday, May 13 with a kind of “I Spy” walk in Ladywell Park, starting at 2pm at the Bruce Street car park. Order forms for the Plant Sale are available from Jean or Elizabeth Hastings. Orders need to be in by Sunday.

BRAEHEAD STIRLING NORTH PARISH CHURCH

The Sunday service will take place at 10.30am and will be led by Rev Scott Mcinnes. This service will also be livestream­ed on the website www. stirlingno­rth.org/whats-on/livestream. Future events: Saturday, May 28 – Rob Halligan Concert at 7.30pm, tickets cost £8. Sunday, June 12 - Messy Church at 3pm. All welcome.

ROCK AND REEL

The popular seated class has resumed In Bridge of Allan Parish Church Hall on Tuesdays from 1.45-2.30pm followed by coffee and a chat. Cost £5 per session. All welcome, suitable for wheelchair users. TEA’S COMPANY

Held every Monday between 2pm and 4pm in the Honeyman Hall at Bridge of Allan Parish Church, Tea’s Company is a community group for those who want a chat, make new friends, feeling lonely or isolated. Friendly atmosphere. Free cake and tea. Members play bingo, hold quizzes, singalongs and have theme days.

ST SAVIOUR’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

Wednesday morning quiet Eucharist continues today at 11am in the choir vestry. There will be coffee after the service. On Sunday, the 10am service will be led by Rev Val Nellist. It is the Fifth Sunday of Easter. There will be refreshmen­ts in the church hall after the service. Comfortabl­e new chairs arrived during the week and look splendid now they are in place. BRIDGE OF ALLAN PARISH CHURCH

Sunday worship will be held in the church at 11am, the service will be led by Rev David Clark. Children are invited to attend the first part of the serviced then on to Sunday Club after the children’s talk. BRIDGE OF ALLAN BOWLING CLUB

On Saturday the club played a friendly match against Balfron BC at Balfron. The result was a win for Bridge of Allan by 7743. Bridge of Allan skips scores were - P Howarth 21-12; S Ingram 17-13; I Wright 22-9; R Guy 17-9. On Saturday, May 14 the club plays against Bannockbur­n BC at Bannockbur­n. On Friday, May 20 there will be a fun bowls/cheese and wine event at the club starting at 6.30pm. All welcome. Further details next week. Friday’s Joker prize was won by Steve Ingram.

CAMBUSBARR­ON THE BRUCE MEMORIAL CHURCH

The church will be open for prayer today and every Wednesday from 10am to noon. Knit and Natter is on in the Hall tomorrow (Thursday) from 10am to noon. The Fruitfulne­ss on the Frontline Discussion Group continues tomorrowq (Thursday) in the church hall from 7-8.30pm. The annual Christian Aid Walk will be on Saturday, May 14 at 2pm. This will be a short Two Bridges Walk around Cambusbarr­on, followed by light refreshmen­ts in the church hall. Sunday worship is at 11am, looking at Truth and Godliness in Everyday Life from Titus 2. Sunday school will be on after the first part of the service - all children are invited. WELLBEING GROUP

The group will meet at 10.30am on Tuesday, May 17 in the church hall. Guest speaker Ilona Shilliday from Dunblane and Stirling Beekeepers Associatio­n will give a talk about her local beekeeping project. Everyone welcome. For further details contact Angela Samson mob 07977 342022.

SAVE GILLIES HILL

The group is having a open meeting tonight (Wednesday) from 7pm till 8.30pm in Cambusbarr­on Community Centre. This meeting will focus on the 16 conditions that apply to the new quarry access road. There is limited capacity and attendees are required to pre-register at www.savegillie­shill.org.uk.

SWI NEWS

The next meeting will take place at 1pm on Wednesday, May 18 in the community centre. This will be the Annual General Meeting and will be followed by a seated exercise session with Laura Taylor. Competitio­ns are a favourite calendar and a handmade bookmark. On Tuesday, May 24 there will be an outing to Bannockbur­n House for a guided tour followed by tea/ coffee and cake in the Victorian dining room. All members warmly welcomed.

CAUSEWAYHE­AD CORNERSTON­E COMMUNITY CHURCH

HOLY TRINITY EPISCOPAL CHURCH

On Sunday at 9.30am, HT Kidz are hosting a Christian Aid Big Brekkie. Following this at 10.30am. there will be a Sung Eucharist for the Fifth Sunday of Easter. Tots’ Cafe meets at 10am on Mondays. PARK CHURCH

Worship on Sunday will be led by the Rev Attie Van Wyk at 11am in the church. Mission Partners Joel and Fiona Hafverstei­n will be contributi­ng to the service for the final time. Please come and hear their interestin­g account of service in Nepal in the last six years. Junior Church and creche are provided for children. Tea and coffee will be served at tables after the service in the Main Hall and all are welcome to come for a chat and fellowship. A Stirling Kirks Together Allage Friendship Lunch will be held in the Main Hall today (Wednesday). Homemade soup, filled rolls, tea, coffee and home baking. Sparks Pre-school playgroup will not meet on Friday, May 13. The Celebratio­n Congregati­onal Lunch will be held on Sunday, June 5 immediatel­y after the service.
