Bannockburn set about putting their disappointing Scottish Cup exit behind them, with a fast start in the West of Scotland Cup to book a place in the quarter final.

Three changes to the starting line-up saw Feaks, Wood and Imrie place Mcgowan, Millar and Taggart.

On the front foot, ‘burn were lively and created the first opening down the right with Mochan and Walker combining and finding Imrie who fired over.

The deadlock was broken on five minutes when a ball into the box wasn’t dealt with and Imrie rose to nod past the advancing keeper.

The second was another instinctive finish after good work on the left by Wood, who cut inside and his driven shot was turned into the net by Imrie for his second.

The backline were kept on their toes when, midway through the half, indecision allowed the striker to get a left footed shot across the goal, but Gordon saved well.

The second half would be played in similar fashion to the first, with ‘burn looking for a third to finish off the home side.

Chances fell to Imrie, who saw his header saved to deny his hat- trick and Henderson who had a curling effort.

Two changes to freshen up the attacking line saw Mcgowan and Donaghy replace Mochan and Wood, and it was Donaghy who would have the best chance in the final stages firing over from the edge of the box.

The home side had one final chance at the death to try and set up a nervy finish, but Todd blocked well from the striker’s turn and shot on the edge of the box.

Bannockburn are away to Wilshaw this Saturday in the first round of the Cinema Cup.
