STOCKPORT Business Awards, an event organised by local accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, is now celebrating its fifth year and the continued support of local businesses.
Organisers are delighted to welcome two new sponsors to the team this year; Rowlinson Knitwear as sponsors of Employer of the Year and Midshire Business Systems as sponsors of the Excellence in CSR category.
The Employer of the Year category award will go to the organisation that can best demonstrate how it has created a stimulating and supportive workplace, with a well-motivated, welltrained, ambitious, innovative and integrated workforce.
Last year it was won by Rowlinson Knitwear, the new sponsors of the category this year.
Donald Moore, director at Rowlinson, said: “Employee owned, Rowlinson Knitwear are delighted to sponsor Employer of the Year. We are proud to promote the benefits of being a great company to work for, and excited to support the wonderful employers in Stockport.”
The Excellence in CSR category is a new one for 2016 which aims to recognise a local business which has a commitment to delivering effective, highimpact, socially responsible initiatives.
It’s sponsored by Midshire Business Systems, and managing director Julian Stafford said: “I’m delighted that Midshire is this year’s sponsor of the CSR award. We’re very passionate about giving back to the local community, so it’s fantastic that we are sponsoring an award that is promoting like-minded businesses, going above and beyond to support charities and local ventures.
“We have supported this year’s charity partner, Francis House Children’s Hospice, for a number of years, raising in excess of £70,000 through sporting events including our F72 Guinness World Record-breaking football match in 2013, so I was over the moon when they were announced as charity partner.
“Good luck to all the nominees, we’re looking forward to presenting the CSR award on the big night.”
The Stockport Business Awards is an event set up for businesses by businesses. It is organised by accountancy practice Clarke Nicklin, and headline sponsors are high profile businesses from the region; Gorvins Solicitors, Orbit Developments and NatWest.
