Teacher’s fundraising drive

-

A DEDICATED teacher is looking to raise £10,000 for the hospice which cared for his wife after she lost her battle with cancer.

Jow Owen is curriculum leader of design and technology at Marple Hall School who lost his wife Jessica in August last year.

Mr Owen said: “Jess filled all our lives with joy and happiness, but sadly lost her decade long battle with cancer. We will miss her always, and look forward to honouring her memory by helping others like her.

“When suffering with cancer, your life becomes far more difficult than you could imagine, but is occasionally made that much more manageable when you receive the proper care you need and deserve.

“East Cheshire Hospice treated Jessica in the months leading up to her death and treated her like family every day she was there.

“We want to help the people who made Jessica’s life that little bit better, and thank them for their extra special care in her time of need.

“We also want to give other patients the continued chance to benefit from such wonderful facilities and help make the lives of those families affected by cancer just a little bit easier.”

Mr Owen is currently in the process of challenging himself to compete in 12 Tough Mudder Challenges as well as a bike ride from John O’Groats to Lands End and has spent many weeks in training.
