Artists open their studios and workshops to the public, at various locations around the four Heatons.

Meanwhile, a trumpeter will be making her way around the trail throughout the day on Saturday, as well as hosting a workshop.

Art lovers will even be able to shuttle between the venues on Saturday by hailing a tuk tuk, which has been specially commissioned for the occasion.

There will also be a preview event for the first time in the trail’s history, which takes place at the newly opened Village Point, on Heaton Moor Road, this Friday night 7.30pm to 9pm.

All are welcome to call in to view a piece of work by every artist taking part in the trail and enjoy live music.

The trail will be brought to a close with a ukulele band performance at Arc Community Gallery in Reddish on Sunday afternoon, followed by a special screening of Mr Turner at the Savoy Cinema, as the studios and exhibition spaces close at 5pm. from

Ceramist Tone von Krogh, one of the founder members of the trail, said: “Everyone is working around the clock in preparation for the trail.

“There’s going to be an excellent range of work, from jewellery, to textiles, to photos.

“As well as that, there will be music, workshops and activities for children. We really think it’s going to be the best trail yet.

“The preview will be a great opportunity for people to have a taste of what they can see during the trail, in a celebratory setting.

“Everyone is really looking forward to it with great enthusiasm.”

Programmes can be picked up around the Heatons, including the library, Savoy Cinema, Bluecorn, Nook, Kro Bar, Thom’s and Blaggs.
