Community gathers for I love Bramhall Festival extravaganza

-

THE crowds were out in force to celebrate all they love about their local neighbourhood this weekend.

The I Love Bramhall Festival saw residents from across the area come together in a real party atmosphere.

This year’s event has a disco theme and saw Imagine FM set the tone with a disco beat and DJ Leroy Lurve opening the entertainment on the main stage.

There were also plenty of stalls along Bramhall Lane South with the Makers’ Market displaying the best of what the town’s traders have to offer.

Chris Corry, committee member of the Bramhall Together Trust who organise the annual event, said: “We are a small group of volunteers from the local community who are committed to doing three events a year - The Festival, Light Up Bramhall and Bramhall’s Got Talent.

“The idea is to bring people into Bramhall and they are all very well supported.

“A great time was had by all and it was great to see everyone enjoying themselves and the smiles on their faces.

“It’s a free event for the community and the more everyone gets involved the better it is.”

The festival was also attended by the Mayor of Stockport who awarded 5 Star Unique Talent with the Festival Cup for winning the dance competition.

Entertainment was also provided by the Funky Town Disco Band, Abba Fusion and Katie Hughes.
