Hawk’s Downey and Stringer rip through Hadfield
DIVISION 1 Hawk Green were asked to bat by hosts Hadfield, and posted 191-9 thanks to 36 from Jack Needham with R Hirst taking 3-49.
In reply Ryan Murray scored 72 but Jason Downey took 3-42 and Ryan Stringer 5-20 to reduce Hadfield to 144 all out.
Broadbottom won the toss at home to Whaley Bridge and asked the visitors to bat, bowling them out for 103, Chris Cheetham-Roberts taking 6-34.
Dale Jones then took 4-54 for the visitors but it was enough to prevent Broadbottom securing a 4 wicket win.
Dinting were also asked to bat by their hosts Mottram, making 178 all out with Adam Wilson hitting 42 and Martyn Knight 44 as Mike Scott took 4-43 and Ryan Fitton 4-36.
Last year’s runnersup then had the better of a tense run chase with the home side reaching 180-8 with two overs remaining, A Metcalfe with 33, Fitton 43 and Jordan Irons 50 while Peter Hills took 4-31.
New Mills were bowled out for 119 by visiting Dove Holes, D Coverley with 31, S Mills 36 and D Cartledge 5-31. Dove made no mistake in the chase with D Jones unbeaten on 57 and Jack Gregory 47 not out.
Old Glossop amassed 246-9 as they were asked to bat by visiting Compstall, Mark Allen making 33, Matt Woodcock 66, Martin McGrail 38 and J Acomb 41 as S Bass took 4-101.
Compstall were then bowled out for just 70 as P Littlewood took 3-29, Matt Woodcock 3-28 and D Hall 3-5.
Tintwistle were asked to bat by Buxworth and posted 203-5, P Higginbottom with 31, Ryan Nixon 55 and James Pool 47 not out as Mark Drabble took 4-76.
In reply Buxworth could not keep up with the required rate as they closed 182-9, I Fairley with 37 not out as J Pool took 5-28.
In Division 2, Birch Vale were bowled out for 139 by visitors Hayfield, Jud Leyland hitting 44 as Josh Unsworth took 6-54 and J Adamson 3-32.
Hayfield then eased to 140-4, G Wood with 30 and Gareth Davies 66 not out.
Woodley travelled to Chapel and bowled their hosts out for 135, Keith Hallam scoring 51 as P Turner took 6-75 and Connor Cramwell 3-18.
Cramwell also starred with the bat as he was 71 not out as Woodley reached their target 6 down, J Hawtin taking 3-34.
Hollingworth were all out for 105 at home to Stalybridge, C Leech making 33 and J Miller 36 while J Brady took 5-39 and M Mallett 4-4 from five overs.
Opener A Harwick then saw his side home with an unbeaten 56 in 106-3.
Newton bowled visitors Hazel Grove out for just 88 then knocked off their target for the loss of three wickets.
Charlesworth were 89 all out batting first at Offerton, A Thomas taking 4-24 and J Kirkham 3-13.
Jonny Wardle then took 4-11 but Offerton reached 91-7 to secure victory.
In Division 3, Charlesworth were all out for 127 batting first at home to Old Glossop, D Acomb taking 4-43. S James then finished 54 not out as Old Glossop made 128-6.
Dinting closed their innings on 180-9 as they entertained Newton, C Wyche hitting 65 as S Williams took 3-28.
B Thompson then took 3-8 and S Garlick 4-24 as Newton were all out for just 80.
Dove Holes posted 121-8 at home to New Mills, P Scowan with 37 and R Jones 42 while Josh Stevens took 4-42. New Mills were then bowled out for 89 as J Norton took 3-28 and R Jones 6-20.
Hawk Green made 177-7 batting first at home to Hadfield, Craig young with 40, Mark Richards 49 and Tom Chetwyn 45 not out.
B Balderson then took 4-7 as Hadfield were bowled out for 88. Hayfield scored a massive 292-8 as they were asked to bat by Broadbottom, Dave Aldridge hitting 36, J Coverley 85 and J Jobling 59.
Broadbottom then saw Nick Courtney hit 70 but it wasn’t enough as they closed 198-8, J Miller taking his maiden senior 5fer with 5-46.
Tintwistle chose to bat at Woodley but could only manage112 all out despite 52 from S Barrow, D Hotson taking 3-17 and M Sands 3-20.
S Richards then hit 33 and M Sands 54 as Woodley cruised to 113-3.
Division 4 Buxworth were 115 all out batting first at home to Chapel, A Reynolds making 34 as J Gyte took 3-15, J Lomas 3-27 and T Candlin 4-22.
In reply Chapel were all out for 90, C Beal making 31 as D Bedworth took 4-20 and T Daily 3-38.
Offerton posted 140-9 batting first at Compstall, K Martin with 35 and M White 50 while Mike Hawkin took 3-29.
Jarrod Ince then hit 58 to see his side to 141-5, M White taking 3-23.
Hazel Grove were bowled out for 109 by visiting Mottram, C Megram taking 4-17. Jason Leach took 6-26 in reply as Mottram were 70 all out.
Stalybridge batted first at home to Hollingworth and were 156 all out thanks to 106 from S Barnes, N Mohammed taking 4-26 and L Belfield 3-34.
Hollingworth were then bowled out for just 42m M Bashir taking 5-1 including a het-trick and P Coxon 3-10.
Birch Vale scored 264-5 at Whaley Bridge, Steve Burns with 94 and A Johnson 116 while E Kitchen took 3-76.
In reply Whaley were 73-4 but recovered to 221-4, O Madden unbeaten on 83 and M Thompson 72 not out.
