Our efforts are built upon acts of kindness...

-

THE Wellspring is built upon acts of kindness, we experience so many acts of kindness every single day at Wellspring, from the general public bringing us donations to our amazing volunteers and staff providing many essential services to homeless and disadvantaged people.

Sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can have the biggest impact in supporting people towards being independent.

Last week I was invited to give a talk to the children of Marple Rainbows who have been doing their Kindness Badge.

It’s always great to speak to groups about the work of The Wellspring, we would like to thank the children at Rainbows for their support of our project. this is now on display at The Wellspring.

Giving people the opportunity to take part in art-based projects is so meaningful, it gives people focus and the opportunity to forget their worries and problems for a little while and get lost in a piece of art.

This then has a knock on effect in other areas of their lives and helps people to become focused and determined to change their situation for the better.

We look forward to taking part in future art projects.

Wellspring has a coffee morning coming up on Saturday, July 23, 10am – 12pm at Woodley Civic Hall , Hyde Road, Woodley, SK6 1QG.

Small events like these are the life blood of The Wellspring, over the last 25 years the project has been built upon small events like this.

Please come along to the coffee morning and support The Wellspring.

Acts of kindness are so important and the knock on effects of one act of kindness can lead to so many others.

If anyone sees someone sleeping rough on the streets of Stockport please direct them to The Wellspring on Harvey St, the project is open every day 9am-8pm except Fridays when the project closes at 4pm.
