Marketing Stockport
WHILE the political dust may be starting to settle in Downing Street and Brexit may start to take shape, it is encouraging to see that the message from Stockport is very much more than just ‘business as usual.’
Stockport is a great place to do business and it is getting better; new companies are continuing to move into the borough adding to the local economy and bringing new jobs.
The new Red Rock leisure complex and Stockport Exchange developments are set to attract a new stream of visitors. New restaurants will offer greater choice and a new experience for both lunchtime and evening diners. Improved infrastructure will continue to connect the town with transport networks.
One newcomer to the town recently said his reason for moving his business here was ‘because Stockport is on the up; it’s the place to be, an ideal business destination.’
But perhaps the most attractive characteristic of Stockport is its people.
We have often used the word ‘selfless’ to describe our members who are keen to share experiences, support each other and work together to nourish Stockport’s growing economy. Collaboration is a proven key to success and a great example was demonstrated recently by the team at Robinsons Brewery.
September brings the second annual beer festival to Stockport, organised by CAMRA and supported by the town’s 177-year-old brewer. New this year is the ‘Ale Trail.’ Devised by Marketing Stockport member Robinsons, it will not only feature Robinsons pubs, but is also designed to showcase and support the many smaller, independent microbrewers in the town.
Independence may be the preferred path of many but in Stockport working together is a proven route.
Stockport has an exciting future. It’s the place to watch! And, by working in partnership with both private and public sector organisations, we are proud to be a part of a successful borough.
