ROBINSONS Brewery has teamed up with Stockport band Blossoms to create a beer for the release of their debut album.

The Stockport brewery has created the 4.1 per cent ABV full bodied golden ale, called Charlemagne, in honour of the five piece’s self-titled first album.

The drink will be sold exclusively at Heaviley pub The Blossoms, which inspired their name.

Robinsons Brewery brand manager Gill Yates said: “We are delighted to be working with Blossoms on this very limited edition beer. We are a proud Stockport brewer and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate the success of a local band than by creating a beer for their fans.”

The band has clocked up numerous accolades over the past 18 months, including being named in the top five in Radio X’s Great X-Pectations, and fourth in BBC Radio’s Sound of New Music 2016.

They were also one of the featured bands in MTV’s Brand New for 2016 and even knocked Adele off the top of the iTunes album chart with the release of their ‘At Most A Kiss’ EP earlier this year.

Blossoms will return to play a special homecoming show at Stockport Plaza at midnight on Friday, August 5.

Tom Ogden, from the band, said: “We were really excited when Robinsons told us they wanted to produce a special Blossoms beer to celebrate the album release.”

To celebrate the show, The Blossoms pub will be giving a free pint to adult fans on August 5, if they can prove they have bought a physical copy, or download, of the album.

Gill added: “With the band returning to their home town, we can’t think of a better place to enjoy a pint of Charlemagne at the pub which inspired their name.”

Charlemagne will be available for a very limited time exclusively at The Blossoms, from August 5.
