Your Local Pantry More information about each of these groups will be featured in the Stockport Express on August 10.
The Express will also be publishing tokens between August 10 and August 31 for readers to vote for the group they would most like to support – the more tokens a group receives, the more funding they will get.
Tokens can be submitted to the charity or community group directly or dropped in at any of the Vernon’s six local branches in Stockport, Marple, Bramhall, Hazel Grove, Poynton and Reddish.
The Vernon’s chief executive, Mike Hanson, said: “Each year the shortlisting process is really difficult as there are so many worthwhile groups in Stockport helping others and we’re sorry that we can’t help them all.
“We’re pleased with the final 20 groups we have chosen and would urge Stockport Express readers to make their vote count and support a great local cause.”
This year’s programme will mean that since its launch in 2012 the Jubilee Fund will have awarded over £50,000 to more than 70 local charity and community groups.
