LAST weekend saw the fifth charity football tournament held in the memory of Lee Mairs, a Bredbury man who tragically lost his life whilst on a stag party with a group of pals in Tenerife in June 2012.

The first tournament, which was held at Cheadle Town FC, was organised to help raise funds to help to bring Lee home to rest.

Every year The Lee Mairs memorial fund try to raise much needed funds for a charity of their choice, this year they have raised an amazing £2,000 for The Wellspring.

We would like to thank everyone who took part in the football tournament in memory of Lee.

In recent years, M&S has changed the way in which the company has dealt with food wastage, including the removal of the process allowing stores to donate waste food to charity.

Marks and Spencer, Stockport are delighted to be able to set up a partnership with The Wellspring Stockport.

The Wellspring offer housing advice and referrals in to housing for the people of Stockport, supporting over 1500 homeless people into accommodation over the years.

The continued link with The Wellspring has brought great success with the charity collecting from in store on a regular basis.

Wellspring is delighted to receive this support from Marks and Spencer’s in the town.

Reducing food waste in the town centre is a great thing and the quality items that M&S donate to The Wellspring have helped us improve the standard of free meals that we serve to homeless and disadvantaged people every day.
