Group’s club contact and future of shares

- IAN BROWN

THE meeting of the Supporters Cooperative members at the Armoury Public House was a fairly sedate affair but much business was done never the less.

Amongst the first items discussed was the fact that due to a combination of factors the club, while anxious to maintain the closest contacts with the Supporters Co-op as the largest supporters group around, have been looking at ways to streamline existing arrangements.

In this respect future formal contacts will be a mix of attendance at club board meetings and six-weekly meetings at which questions flagged up in advance can be discussed and hopefully set on the way to being sorted.

The chairman indicated that questions submitted by members will be aired via one or other of the above channels.

The meeting also discussed the discontinuation of the shares arrangement where one share is given for every £2 donated to the players fund.

It was intended for this scheme to run for 12 months, but it has actually run for two years.

The chairman said that share donor Mr Bramhall should be thanked for the gesture that had so-far benefited both the club and the Supporters Co-op, which now held a stake in the club on behalf of fans.

He also advised that the Supporters Co-op is in the process of starting talks with the club on the issue.

It was noted that agreement had been reached with the Cryptic
