Compstall batsmen fall short

IN Division One Dinting batted first at home to Compstall and hit 239-9 with contributi­ons of 38 not out from Jon Coleman, 35 from D Weatherhea­d and 32 from Adam Wilson, while F Heginbotha­m took 4-83 and D Davis 4-74. In reply P Jackson scored 41 but B Thompson took 6-65 to reduce the visitors to 133 all out.

Hawk Green batted first against Buxworth and scored 357-4, M Stringer smashing 211 and Josh Hampson 109 as J Gemmell took 3-113. Buxworth could only muster 83 all out.

In Division Two Hayfield batted first at home to High Lane and posted 252 all out, Gareth Davies making 45, G Wood 55 and M Hill 31 not out as Tyler Eiselt took 6-78 and Damien Paul 3-78.

In reply Paul hit 91 and George Whitney 34 but Josh Unsworth took 3-65 and Dave Aldridge 4-62 to bowl the visitors out eight runs short.

Hazel Grove batted first at home to Charleswor­th and scored 215-3, Rick Burke scoring 101 and Nick Hayward with 50. Only Jonny Wardle (31 not out) offered any resistance with the bat as Dominic Nunn took 3-33 and Joe Hall 4-20.

Hollingwor­th were bowled out for 106 as they entertaine­d Offerton, R McNee with 36 as A Thomas took 4-25 and J Kirkham 6-50. Ian Bates then hit an unbeaten 51 as Offerton closed 109-6, R Hoskins taking 3-24.

Stalybridg­e were bowled out for 95 as they hosted table topping Woodley, R Billinge taking 5-23. In reply Harrison Webb was 41 not out as Woodley passed their target for the loss of two wickets.

In Division Three New Mills beat Tintwistle and Hawk Green were bowled out for 127 at Woodley, but the hosts could only reach 125 in reply.

In Division Four there were wins for Hazel Grove, and High Lane, but Offerton lost to Hollingwor­th.
