Beautiful Claire’s on route to being crowned pageant queen
A ROMILEY woman is out to wow the judges when she appears as a finalist in the Miss Great British Beauty competition.
Claire Woolstencroft, 26, is a personal fitness trainer having qualified last year and she is also mum to an 18-month-old son Oliver.
She said: “It will be the fourth beauty pageant I will have entered and I am determined to win.
“I was in the Miss Stockport one in 2014 which was my very first, followed by Beauty of the UK and then earlier this year, I was in the Face of North West England.
“I originally started doing this to increase my confidence and to step out of my own personal comfort zone and it has been a great experience so far.”
In the run-up to the finals of her latest pageant, Claire is focusing her efforts on charity work as part of her bid to win.
Over the last few years she has worked hard to raise money for various good causes and the chosen charity of her latest pageant is Solving Kids Cancer so she is planning a fundraising event to boost its coffers.
She has organised an evening of live entertainment at Marple Conservative Club which will including a raffle, solo artists and karaoke when it is held in September.

Claire said: “The pageants are great because you can meet a lot of good friends and really it’s all about self-confidence - you can be the prettiest girl in the world but if you don’t have confidence you probably won’t do well.
“One of the things they do is to interview you and they can ask you some difficult questions - one of the ones I was asked in the past was to explain what made me different from the others in the pageant and why I deserved to win.
“I told them that everyone is unique in their own way and as you go along you get better at answering them.”
The finals of the Miss Great British Beauty competition will be held on September 11 in Wales and are expected to be a night to remember with dozens of hopefuls all looking to impress the judges.
Claire added: “I am getting my dresses sorted out and I am just going to go in their with confidence, do my best and hopefully raise a lot for charity.”
