Raising a glass to pub’s refurb
REGULARS got together to celebrate the £327,000 refurbishment of the Woodley Arms pub.
The pub, owned by Punch is in the Woodley Precinct and has been given a complete make-over reopening its doors on July 13.
Special guests on the day included Bez from the Happy Mondays and Clint Boon from Inspiral Carpets joining in the celebrations and customers were treated to a hog roast.
The new-look Woodley Arms is run by publicans, Kate Sheils and her partner Graham Wright.
Kate said: “I’m so excited about putting The Woodley Arms back on the map.
“It has always been a popular pub but it’s now getting the investment it deserves to bring it up to date.
“The biggest change we are making is to introduce a new food menu and we will be serving breakfast from 10.30am, seven days a week.
“We’ll have a range of food and drink promotions running daily and Graham and I have so much planned to keep our customers entertained over the coming months.”
The pub’s refurbishment has seen it kitted out with new furniture, fixtures and fittings, full redecoration inside and out and new ladies and gents’ toilets.
Seven TV screens and a huge projector have been installed to show live sports and a new darts area has also been created.
