Peaks conquered for Seashell

-

A TEAM of accountants and business advisers went to great heights to raise money for charity.

A group of 13 from leading accountancy firm Hurst took on the three peaks challenge and scaled the highest peaks of England, Scotland and Wales in aid of the Seashell Trust.

The team, which included partner Nigel Barratt and associate partner Liz Gallagher, managed to raise £6,000 with their efforts.

Corporate finance manager Ian Dawson was the fastest in the group, managing to get up and down all three mountains in 22 hours and 47 minutes.

Nisha Randhawa, marketing executive, said: “We dedicated several weekends to preparing for the trip by climbing other mountains, which stood us all in good stead.

“Everyone motivated and helped each other and despite a few falls and lots of aches and pains, there was a tremendous feeling of achievement once we had completed the challenge.

“It was all for a fantastic cause and we’re delighted to have raised such a large amount of money for Seashell Trust.”

Hurst are also planning a quiz night, bake-off competition and annual football tournament to raise more funds.

The money will go to the Cheadle Hulme-based charity to help provide education, sport and leisure activities to children and young people with physical and learning disabilities.
