Nursery project is given a boost by home builders
A HOME BUILDING firm has donated cash to help with a Heaton Moor nursery’s ambitious building project.
Bellway Homes has donated £500 to Charnwood Nursery on St Paul’s Road
Charnwood is a long established charity which provides inclusive nursery education and family support for all children, regardless of ability.
Many of its youngsters have special education needs or live with disabilities.
Bellway’s donation will go towards helping to transform the site, which was originally built in the 1970s, and create a new nursery floor, family support room, learning support room, entrance, reception and meeting area.
The build will cost in the region of £300,000 to complete and Charnwood is responsible for all of its own fundraising to meet this target.
Charnwood director Graham Frost, said: “We’re extremely grateful to Bellway for its kind donation which brings us ever close to our fundraising target.
“The new build will mean so much to the Trust, especially the children, providing an exciting and purposebuilt environment that allows them to learn and play together irrespective of their ability or support needs.”
Bellway is currently developing a number of new sites across the borough, including in Heaton Moor.
Sales director Louise Chamberlain, added: “We are always keen to support the local communities around our developments and the new build at Charnwood Nursery is an extremely worthy cause. With its location so close to our Heaton Manor development, we know that many residents use the nursery and will benefit from the extra space and facilities of the new build. It was fantastic to have the opportunity to go in and meet the children and introduce them to our site manager Mark – a ‘real life’ Bob the Builder.”
