HERE at Pure Radio, with less than six weeks to go, we are looking to get some exercise in preparation for Life Leisure’s BIG Stockport Run.
The event, this year sponsored by Biffa, is fast becoming a fixture on the Stockport sporting calendar. It will be the fifth year it has taken place.
Last year the Pure Roadshow was down at St Petersgate to send the runners on their way and create a party atmosphere. We will be there again but this time we’re going the extra mile, or should that be kilometer? A team from Pure Radio and our parent sister Pure Innovations will be pulling on their running shoes and attempting the course.
The difficult choice is now which run to take part in on Sunday, September 18. There will be two runs again this year. There’s the family 1k that even the most inexperienced amateur can enjoy. For those more serious about their running there’s the 10k, which is a chip-timed event. I’m told serious runners know what that means.
Adult entry to the 10k is £15 or £13 for UKAaffiliated athletes or it’s £18 on the day. Entry to the fun run is just a fiver, with youngsters aged five and under going free with a paying adult.
