Compstall get chased down by Dove Holes
DIVISION One Compstall won the toss and elected to bat at Dove Holes, going on to make 146-9 from their 45 overs, P Jackson scoring 57 as Dave Cartledge took 6-43.
Dove Holes then saw D Jones (62 not out), Mark Vernon (42) and Tom Forder (32 not out) in fine form as they cruised to 147-1.
Hadfield were asked to bat by visiting New Mills and posted 160-8, Jonny Tranter hitting 57 as Mark Birchenall took 6-77.
J Duckworth then scored 67 and D Coverley 39 as New Mills closed 161-3.
Broadbottom elected to bat at Hawk Green and scored 196 all out, Ryan Welsh making 86 and Lee Shufflebottom 30 while Jack Needham took 4-21 and Jordan Henderson 3-66. In reply, Josh Hampson hit 49 but the loss of regular wickets saw the Hawk innings lose momentum as they were all out for 144, experienced Stephen Croft taking 5-50.
Division Two promotion hopefuls Hayfield entertained champion elect Woodley and hit 210-9, K Sharpe with 56 not out and Josh Unsworth 42 while Jamie Kay took 3-90.
In a tense chase Woodley came out on top finishing, 213-8, Harrison Webb with 47 and Danny Kay an unbeaten 89, Dave Aldridge taking 6-68.
Hazel Grove chose to bat at home to Offerton, Nick Hayward with a 4th century of the season as he hit 133 not out while fellow opener Rick Burke hit 48 and Lee Sykes 50 not out in a total of 253-1. Offerton were then all out for 141 with S Kirkham hitting 43 while Dom Nunn took 3-36 and Joe Wilkinson 3-10.
High Lane also hit a big first inning total, closing 280-2 against visiting Charlesworth, Damien Paul bludgeoning 178 not out with Sam Clarke hitting 36 and Jonny Marshall 48 not out. T Guerin was the only Charlesworth batsman to trouble the scorers as he made 39 while George Whitney took 5-44.
Division 3 Hawk Green batted first at Broadbottom and posted 215-6, Craig Young with 36 and Justin Blackhurst 85 not out. J Welsh then hit 54 not out but Bradley Holme took 3-37 to reduce the home side to 127 all out.
New Mills were 185-7 at the close of their innings as they entertained Hadfield, M Ruffell with 40 and Ash Boardman 53 not out as G Snowball took 3-46.
J Nicholson then hit 58 but it was Jamie Henderson with 3-16, Usman Ali 4-19 and James Stevens 3-16 who did the damage as Hadfield were all out for 101.
Old Glossop hit a massive 259-4 as they hosted Dinting, S Allcock with 125 not out, S James 36, D Sagar 34 and A Dwyer 33 while S Garlick took 3-92. In reply Sam Elliott hit 33 but J Brotherton took 31 and S Allcock 5058 in a total of 134 all out.
Tintwistle were all out for 112 as they hosted Newton, SP Barrow with 59 as M Pottage took 3-18 and M Hyde 4-17. R Barrow took a hattrick in figures of 5-16 as Newton were all out for 98.
Woodley were asked to bat by visiting Hayfield and were 194 all out, Graham Parry with 62 and A Rippon 36 while J Spencer took 6-26. J Jobling then hit 36 but C Middleton took 3-26 and Will Adam 4-28 to see Hayfield all out for 108.
In Division 4 High Lane were 216-6 batting first at Compstall, N Sheikh with 51 and Tim Pearson 73. Compstall then collapsed to 45 all out, M Akram taking 5-20 and Pearson 4-2. Hazel Grove elected to bat at Offerton and were 226-8 at the close of their innings, Andy Oldfield with 32, Andy Rodgers 42 and Cameron Forsythe 51 as W Akram took 5-48. Colm Nunn then took 3-19 as Offerton were all out for just 43.
