Booth’s magical double

TOM Booth turned on the magic in the Stockport Individual Premier League when he hit the target with superb darts of 22, 17, 18, 20 and 17 to outscore Paul Holland (18, 19) in his first outing. He then continued with quality darts of 22, 19, 20, 19 and 18 to edge Mick Cosgrove 5-3.

Alan Willkinson (21, 16, 18, 16 and 19) won his opening game 5-1 over Derek Higgins, the Leeds ace moved forward with shots of 21, 21, 21, 18 and 15 darts to take out Steve Rogers (28, 14, 23) in his final game of the night.

Dave Beckett collected maximum points when he fired home top class darts of 21, 15, 24, 14 and 18 to win his first game 5-0 over Mark Daniels 5-0, before checking out in 21, 18, 19, 22 and 24 to beat Jake Murphy 5-3, who lost his final game 5-0 against Paul Taylor in 21, 18, 19, 19 and 20 darts.

Taylor (23, 24, 17 and 21) earned himself a point in his second game when he shared the spoils with league champion Ian Walters (20, 18, 21 and 24), before the Hyde hitman turned on full power in his last game blasting the treble twenty with tremendous darts of 17, 17, 16, 15 and 13 to overcome Andy Smith 5-1.

Stockport Super League Champions Armoury B with the help of Daz Fitton (16, 15) Mark Cairney ((15, 24) Colin Mills (24, 17) and Paul Taylor (17, 27) were comfortabl­e 5-3 winners at Grange Club A , who have one catch up game to play.

Queens B finished the season in fine style with a 5-2 success at Brinningto­n Labour Club, Stinger Wray (19, 16) Tony Sanchez (22, 23) Bob Blakeley (24, 24) and John Brown (24, 32) were their top players.

Armoury A won by the odd game 4-3 against Emigration, Ian Walters (15, 24) Matt Phillips (24, 24) and Steve Gallimore (21, 25) were their target men, leaving Dom Hughes (23, 17) and Joe McCrevey (20, 22) to reply for the visitors.
