How to have a Fabulous time this weekend...
STOCKPORT PLAZA
Hail Caesar and Absolutely Fabulous on The Plaza Silver Screen Join us this weekend at Stockport’s 1932 Art Deco Super Cinema and variety theatre for two sensational feature films appearing on the giant silver screen where they truly belong…
On Friday, August 12, at 11am and 7.30pm we are screening the magnificent Hail Caesar! (Cert 12A) starring George Clooney, Josh Brolin, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton and Ralph Fiennes.
The Coen brothers assemble possibly their starriest cast yet for a delirious screwball comedy in the grand tradition of classic Hollywood.
After this it’s the very best of British on Saturday, August 13 and Sunday, August 14, at 2.30pm and 7.30pm when we screen the blockbusting box office smash Absolutely Fabulous – The Movie (Cert 15) starring Jennifer Saunders, Joanna Lumley and full supporting cast.
Eddy and Patsy are back, and in an attempt to become Kate Moss’ new PR, Eddy accidentally kills her, so they go on the run.
Now that they’re social pariahs, they can’t shop and drink their way around London as they’re used to. But they have a chance to escape to the south of France, where there’s nothing stopping them from living the high life forever!

NK THEATRE ARTS
So as the summer brings our season to a close, we look forward to another campaign of fantastic performances, with something for everyone in the coming year. We kick off in September by becoming the first provincial theatre outside of London to land the performance rights to Monty Python’s hilarious musical ‘Spamalot,’ following King Arthur and his knights of Camelot on their quest to find the Holy Grail. The show features all the characters that are found in the film, including the French Taunters, The Knights of Ni, the fearless Black Knight and even a cameo guest appearance from Eric Idle playing the voice of God. There are some typically funny Python style songs, including of course Always Look on the Bright side of Life!
In October Beetlejuice returns along with Frank-n-furter to host our Halloween adult cabaret ‘Rock N Horror Graveyard Show.’ In November our first drama of the year is presented with Simon Stephens’ play ‘Punk Rock’ being staged.
We welcome Christmas to Stockport with ‘Christmas at the Forum,’ and 2017 kicks off with ‘A Night in the West End.’
February sees the Willy Russell play ‘Blood Brothers’ performed, closely followed by the Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream.’
Our second major musical this season will be ‘Made in Dagenham’ in May 2017 with more performances scheduled to take us right through to next summer.
To book any of these events go to www. theforumtheatre.co.uk, or call 0333 666 3366.
