SUPPORT your local area with the Vernon’s Jubilee Fund.

Vernon Building Society has announced the 20 local causes who will benefit from a share of its £10,000 Jubilee Fund.

The groups who need your vote to benefit from a share in the local fund are: ●●THE Wellspring ●●BEACON Counsellin­g ●●BEECHWOOD Cancer Care ●●THE Furniture Station ●●JUMP Space ●●ALLOTMENTS Love Life ●●INSPIRED Stockport CIC ●●PURE Insight 1628 ●●STOCKPORT SEND Families ●●15TH Cheadle Hulme Brownies ●●CHELWOOD Foodbank Plus ●●MARY Sunley Canal Boat Trust ●●STOCKPORT CP Society ●●EBONY and Ivory Community Organisati­on ●●STOCKPORT School Outreach ●●WESTBROOK ●●BRINNINGTO­N Activity Group ●●KINDER Mountain Rescue Team ●●SMART Works Greater Manchester ●●YOUR Local Pantry

To vote, all you need to do is cut out the token below, fill it out with the name of the cause you would like to support and then send it in to the group directly or drop it in to any of the Vernon’s six local branches.

Tokens will appear in the Stockport Express each week until Wednesday, August 31.

Nathaniel Harwood, marketing co-ordinator at Vernon Building Society, said: “Last year we counted a record 3,850 votes which shows the extent to which local people care about their community.

“After visiting a number of the groups who were awarded funding last year, I’m well aware of how much this funding and support means to them so would urge all readers to send their tokens before the Wednesday, September 14 closing date.”

This year’s programme will mean that since its launch in 2012 the Jubilee Fund will have awarded over £50,000 to more than 70 local charity and community groups.
