HAZEL Grove MP William Wragg welcomed members of the Manchester United Foundation when they paid a visit to his constituency office.

Mr Wragg met members of the foundation to talk about their partnership with Werneth High School.

The Manchester United Foundation work closely with 20 schools across the Greater Manchester including Stockport, where they work with teachers to help young people aged between five and 18-years-old to develop crucial employability skills.

Mr Wragg said, “I’m very pleased to see that Werneth High School is working with the Manchester United Foundation.

“I wish the school every success in helping young people in our area develop the crucial skills they need to go on and succeed in life.”

The team at the Foundation works in challenging circumstances and promotes a heathy lifestyle and character building to ensure young people have the selfconfidence they need to be successful in their future careers.

The foundation has a varied programme of activities which are designed to help get the best out of the young people the programme mentors.

Among other things it teaches skills such as leadership, pupil mentoring, coaching education, increasing football and sports participation and football skill development.

The programme also helps with the transition of pupils from primary to secondary school and helping with areas including literacy and healthy eating in primary schools.
