STOCKPORT’S Radio Station Pure 107.8FM recently introduced some new evening music programmes. Presenter

tells us about his show, The Roadhouse... JOIN me every Thursday 9-11pm on Pure for The Roadhouse. The show is a ‘Gateway to the Golden Eras of Music’, paying homage to the great songs of the last 60 years, predominately focusing around guitar-based music that covers a variety of genres including: classic rock, blues rock, blues, prog, Americana, folk, indie, alternative, psych, punk, garage, ska, new wave... the list goes on.

Expect to hear a mixture of classic tracks from well-known artists, with a few tracks thrown in that have been forgotten over time or don’t get much airplay. In short – ‘the songs that don’t get enough love.’

I’ll also feature two or three newer, upcoming bands/artists each week. I’ll be keeping my eye on new releases and gigs coming up as I want to promote the excellent music that still resides in the underground today.

Also there will be a couple of regular features appear each week to keep the show light-hearted, interesting and fun with a movie segment called ‘Rocking the Scene’ and two tracks played from two different events that happened ‘On This Day in Music History’.

So whether you want to hear something wellknown, rediscover forgotten gems, hear tracks that don’t usually get enough airplay, or listen to something new from past and current eras then stop off at The Roadhouse every Thursday evening and prepare for two hours of the best music that has graced the ages.
