Man goes to great lengths to raise money for Seashell Trust
A PLANNING consultant jumped in the saddle and rode the length of the country in aid of a Cheadle Hulme charity.
Nick Lee took part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain to raise funds for the Seashell Trust.
The managing director of NJL Consulting was sponsored to cycle 970 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats over nine days.
He said: “There is simply nothing else like the Seashell Trust in the UK.
“It is the main provider of education to some of the most vulnerable young people in our society.
“They are dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and adults with complex and severe learning disabilities which include little or no language abilities.
“The children need exceptional care by exceptional people and rely significantly on charitable donations to operate. We have got to know the organisation very well and want to help them in their longer term ambitions.”
Nick’s efforts managed to raise more than £2,000 for the cause.
He added: “I’m pleased to say we got around £2,000 donated.
“This was twice what we thought given the usual pressure of donor fatigue.”
Dominic Tinner, from the Seashell Trust, said: “This is a real feat of endurance.
“We are so very grateful to Nick for all the pain and soreness he went through to raise these funds.”
