Time for walkies in aid of hospice
BROADCASTER Phil Trow, the Lord Mayor of Manchester and their four-legged friends will be taking part in a spooktacular fundraising event.
They will both be joining dog lovers for a 3k sponsored dog walk at Wythenshawe Park in aid of St Ann’s Hospice.
The event, on Saturday, October 29, will also see canine companions entered into special competition categories with the mayor Coun Carl Austin-Behan crowning the best dressed, best rescue, golden oldie, best boy and best girl.
St Ann’s chief executive Eamonn O’Neal said: “As a charity right in the heart of the local communities we support, events like this one are a great way for us to raise money whilst also giving local families a fantastic day out.
“We’re really looking forward to everyone joining us in support of St Ann’s, and are hoping each dog sponsored to take part in the event raises as much money as possible for the hospice.
“Every penny raised really will make a difference to the local people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses that we support.”
The St Ann’s Hospice Paws Spooktacular will open from 10am with the dog walk starting from 1pm.
Tickets cost £10 per dog and humans go free.
