Warning of road delays

-

DRIVERS are being warned of works taking place on one of the busiest roads in Stockport in preparation for the Manchester Airport Relief Road.

Gas diversion work is set to start on Monday on the A6 in High Lane, and is expected to run until Friday, November 18.

During this time, temporary traffic lights will be in place on the A6 Buxton Road, 24 hours a day from the Thai Fusion restaurant to Wellington Road.

The lights will be manned from 7.15am to 6.45pm from Monday to Saturday in a bid to help minimise any queuing at the busiest times.

Norbury Hollow Road will also be closed during this period. The closure will be in place from the A6 side of Norbury Hollow Road, through to Middlewood Road and a signed diversion route via Buxton Road, Macclesfield Road, Park Lane and Middlewood Road will be in place.

Stockport Council has apologised in advance for any potential delays or inconvenience.
