Pupils cook up a storm at food and drink festival

-

PUPILS and staff from Brabyns Preparatory School had a great time when they attended the Marple Food and Drink Festival.

The children served up ice cream and drinks to the visitors which everyone greatly enjoyed.

The sun shone all day and the school’s choir also sang to keep visitors entertained.

Headteacher Lee Sanders said: “It was a fantastic day, we love being part of the wonderful Marple community and events like this, are of great benefit to the children to develop their social and other skills away from the classroom - as well as being a lot of fun.

“We had some very enterprising children who composed their own songs to help promote the ice creams.

“We would like to offer many thanks to the organisers who made it such a wonderful event for the local community.”

The proceeds which are still being counted up will go to the school’s designated charity, the Royal National Lifeboat Association (RNLI).

Brabyns Preparatory School is a coeducational independent day school for children aged two to 11-years-old.

Mr Sanders added: “We are committed to offering a first class academic education within a forward-thinking and dynamic curriculum, in a way that is rewarding for children, parents and staff.

“We offer a rich and diverse experience for the whole school community including a wide range of academic, sporting, language and performing arts opportunities, plus an extensive extra-curricular programme.

“Enjoyment and excellence are at the heart of an education that encompasses academic study, leadership, cultural pursuits, communication and excellent pastoral care. It is our aim to develop young people to enable them to realise their potential and contribute fully to the world in which they grow up.”
