Kicking away the competitors
A TEENAGE martial arts star has been crowned national champion for the second year running.
Holly Kelly, from Cheadle, took gold after winning all her matches at the British National Championships in London.
The 14-year-old, who trains at Stockport-based Jeon-Sa Taekwondo Academy, didn’t concede a single point and remains undefeated all year on the domestic circuit.
Head coach Nick Brinklow said: “The nationals is the biggest competition in the domestic calendar and attracts the best athletes from all over the UK.
“This year’s event was the largest ever with more than 900 competitors taking part and medal positions were hotly contested.”
Teammates Sofia Tzourou, 11, Cameron Kerr, 12, Abdullah Khan, 11, Shukhrat Issabayev, 30 and Ruby Sutton, eight, all came home with medals.
