Clubs from sinking into the depths
Help the Hatters do, it makes you proud to be a Stockport County supporter. For our part , the Supporters Cooperative, through our work organising such huge events as the Hatter Half Marathon, that require a massive body of volunteers, and a multitude of other events, values very much our links with Help the Hatters.
It seems that Stockport is well blessed as far as volunteering is concerned and over the last two or three years the Cooperative has been aware of just what magnificent work Stockport charity the Wellspring do on behalf of the homeless people.
With this in mind we instituted a winter appeal for donations to see the Wellspring clients through what could be a very cold winter indeed.
The response from Stockport County supporters was truly excellent and , despite very heavy rain throughout Sunday, we were able to deliver two van loads of donated items to the charity who were very pleased to receive them.
Finally, back to the duck analog,.and while it is clear the volunteer culture at the club fostered by Help the Hatters and ourselves thrives the above surface continues to go from good to even better under James Gannon’s leadership.
The FA Cup game with Woking gives the people of Stockport another chance to get down to EP and see for themselves.
See you there!
