From County

-

via a James McQuilken pass low across goal, where Croasdale slotted past Hinchliffe.

The goal came in a disappointing fashion for Gannon, with McQuilken being afforded far too much space to wander into the penalty area, before Croasdale arrived late into the box to fire home.

The away side, widely recognised on the day as one of the best County have come up against so far this campaign, began to professionally and efficiently see the game out, with the Hatters struggling to regain the initiative which they had held so well prior to Croasdale’s intervention.

When Hooper fired a low effort from long range, Hornsby palmed the strike back into his own area - but when the ball fell kindly for defender Lowe to clear, rather than falling to one of the many Hatters men with an easy tap-in, it became clear that it wouldn’t be County’s day.

There were few grumbles as the full-time whistle sounded, with a strong Kidderminster side possibly lucky to escape with a win - whilst County hadn’t produced an onslaught as they did against league leaders Fylde last month, many did leave Edgeley Park commenting that a draw was most likely the fairest result.

But, with this week’s boost to the playing budget from the Board of Directors, and key players Lloyd and Amis coming through the weekend unscathed and available for this Saturday’s FA Cup against Woking, hope will continue to grow of a positive season at Edgeley Park - with the club hoping for big crowd on Saturday and a trip into the 2nd Round for first time in ten years.
