Author to tell tale of notorious gangster
ANOTORIOUS London gangster who now runs a sex dungeon has hired a local author to write his biography.
Stockport writer Nick Fisher, 53, received a phone call from Dave Courtney - who once rubbed shoulders with the Krays - just before Christmas.
Nick said: “Dave’s been reading my books for a while now and just gets the humour. I was not expecting him to ask me, an unknown author, to write his biography when there would be hundreds of established authors queueing up to do so.”
Dave, 57, a self-proclaimed London gangster, claims that in his life his nose has been bitten off, he’s been shot, and has had to kill to stay alive.
He said: “It hasn’t been the greatest of years for me. My stepson got murdered and they thought I had something to do with it.
“I had to sort of die for a few years, which is why I haven’t written anything or updated my website.”
He added: “My eyes have gone over the past years so I needed Nick to write it. His books are the closest thing to mine so I asked him to help.
“I’m going to release a version for a DVD where you can see me reading it prison before they found me not guilty. Now I run a sex dungeon, too. It’s all going to be in the book, everything.”
Nick himself is no stranger to this lifestyle, claiming he was best friends with northern gangster Chris Little when younger.
He estimates that the biography will take around six months to write, and he is aiming to produce a 300-page hardback.
He has previously written adult humour books, such as Gym’ll Fix It, and Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road? and his latest will be released in February.
Describing Dave, Nick added: “He’s actually a really nice guy, despite what you might think. You could speak to him for five minutes and feel like you’ve known him 20 years.”
Dave believes he’s the last of a generation of ‘true’ gangsters. He said: “There’s nobody left like us ‘true’ ones anymore. Today’s gangsters are the stockbrokers who swindle money.”
