Go on the run and help the town’s homeless

THE Wellspring is currently recruiting fundraising runners for both The Great Manchester 10k run and the new Great Manchester Half Marathon, both of which take place on Sunday, May 28. The Wellspring has free places to fill. If you would like to take part in either of these events then please email thewellspring@ btconnect.com with your full name, address and phone number.

Wellspring places are free in return for fundraising for the charity, we don’t set anyone a fundraising target. By fundraising and running for The Wellspring you will be helping to ensure that a homelessness service is both operational and productive in Stockport.

The Wellspring is open 365 days a year and the Great Manchester Run is our biggest fundraising event of the year. Why not get fit for the new year and have a target to aim for in May? You don’t have to be a fantastic runner or have any running experience. Gordon Burns. The quiz takes place at Stockport Grammar School on Friday, February 17 from 7pm.

Tickets are £12 each which includes wine and supper. A licensed bar and free parking is available. Tickets can be purchased by contacting Pauline on 427 2763.

We are constantly striving to improve the services that we offer at The Wellspring, by supporting one of the above events you will be helping us to achieve that goal.

In 2017 we plan to provide a new comprehensive programme of educational courses aimed at supporting vulnerable people both off the streets and in to full time employment. We will of course still be offering one-to-one support to anyone who requires it, addressing issues around mental and physical health, housing, benefits and addictions, as well as providing many other essential services to people in need in Stockport.
