MEET Stockport’s radio station Pure 107.8FM’s, latest presenter. BRAD Lucy is playing funk, soul and much more Between The Groves every Saturday Night.
My name’s Brad Lucy (I’m aware the last name is a bit weird) and I have been hosting a specialist Saturday music show on Stockport’s Pure 107.8FM from 8-9pm since early
October 2016 called Between the Grooves. Prior to hosting the show, I had been a DJ in clubs for four years; hoarding a wide array of funk, soul, disco, afro-beat and generally upbeat ‘smiley’ songs.
In late August I contacted Paul Holloway to enquire about a training programme that was then running at the station.
I’ve been trained on the various systems at the station by Phil Ord eventually being given the chance to interview celebrities such as
Countdown’s Rachel Riley!
It’s been a great opportunity for me to learn more about radio – it’s all about experience and the team at Pure have that in abundance.
After helping out around the studio for around six weeks Paul and Dave Stearn approached me about a new show and
Between the Grooves was born!
