Cooperativ­e’s maiden meeting of the year

LAST week’s Stockport Express carried, via this column, a new year message from Supporters Cooperativ­e Chairman Peter Towey. This week Peter found himself chairing the first meeting of the Cooperativ­e Board of 2017.

The small back room in the Alexandra public house was almost full as the meeting started with the Chair welcoming newly co-opted member Ed Keane to his first board meeting , along with returning co-optee Paul Thompson, who provides invaluable Webmaster services to the group.

John Giles gave a report back on the meeting between the club and Cooperativ­e boards, where we had advanced sight of the club accounts. It was agreed we seek a copy of the full accounts from the club.

Giles gave a power point presentati­on on the future of the Guardian Account. This was splendidly presented and well received, following which it was agreed to give further considerat­ion as to ultimate actions on the Guardian Account at the next meeting.

Catering at Edgeley Park was discussed at length following our observatio­ns at the Cheadle End bar at half time during the match with Harrogate. Many complaints have been received about slow to non-existent service and it was agreed that we raise the matter with the club at the earliest opportunit­y.

Regarding the upcoming County Museum, consultati­ons were in hand twixt the Cooperativ­e and Help the Hatters on the subject. The Draft Inventory of Museum Exhibits had now been produced, and Help the Hatters were
